Weekends like this!

Summer, guys, it is just magnificent. We got a first taste this weekend and I jut can’t believe how much we waited for it. I am grateful for living in this beautiful corner of the world, but I cannot stop wishing for more days of sun. If only we would live in an endless summer (daydreaming much?).

We decided to spend this past Sunday up in the mountains, in Bannalpsee. We were there before, when Luca was 8 months old I believe. You can see some old pics here.

We took the cable car to go up the mountain and spend 4 hours taking a hike and having lunch. See some more pics below.

I am wearing an old top that was handed to me by one of my colleagues that cleaned her closet before leaving Switzerland. It still had the tag on, but she must have gotten it last season from Abercrombrie & Fitch (20% sale today). Since it is off the shoulder, it still looks great this summer when anything that uncovers the shoulders is a win win. Here are a few similar tops from Asos UK.

The perfect summer shoes!

Yes, summer is here, even if where I live it does not look like. As we speak is cold and rainy. Oh, the good old British summer. Well, even so, I am not giving up.

I have been looking for the perfect summer shoes for a couple of years now. A perfect pair that are beautiful, made for walking and most important that will not make my feet sweat. And let’s not forget, they must have a bit of heel :P.

I am so excited that I have finally found them that I must share it with you! Castañer Carina wedge espadrilles. I purchased mine from Net-a-Porter, they come in various shapes and colours and I am telling you that I never owned a more comfortable pair of shoes in my life. Another plus is that they look great with everything, dresses, jeans, swimsuits :D, they make your feet look small and elongate your legs. So chic and perfect!

Travel: Mount Rigi

My favourite time of the year is now. I love summer and I believe it to be the time to travel around. We are so lucky to live in a country that offers so much to see and explore and this past weekend we went up on mountain Rigi. It was such a lovely day that we spent together as a family with Luca enjoying himself in his first ride on the train. We went by car to Vitznau, had lunch there, and we continued our journey by taking a train that took us up to Rigi Kaltbad. The view of Lake Luzern from up there was magical. We went for a walk with Luca in the stroller (he slept very well) and enjoyed a cup of coffee at one of the terraces.

Travel – Catalina Island

I woke up today a bit later than usual and had the nostalgia of sunny days. I was daydreaming about the warm summer days and the feeling of walking on a sandy beach. Normally this would have left me feeling sad. but when I think of how much our life and holidays are going to change, I just feel excited and happy. So what if now is November and is cloudy and dark outside?! We still have the memories from our last June beach gateway. I did some digging and found some pictures from our one day trip to Catalina Island from the Dominican Republic. It was one of those days that started with some clouds and then it turned into this beautiful sunny day. Kinda like November days where we live now, foggy most mornings, but by noon the sun shows up, just to remind you that he is there and that he has not forgot you.

A selection of a few pictures from Catalina island. Daydreaming Monday it is!

Cloudy morning in the harbor.

And then the sky cleared and the Caribbean waters were in full color

I wish you a great week! Smile and the sun will shine no matter what!

Summer looks

I don’t know how’s your holiday mood these days, but mine is reaching pretty high levels. First we had 30 degrees temperatures for the past week (very rare for a June in Switzerland) second, the Brazil Fotbal World Cup is starting today and that means great matches, public viewings on the terraces in the city, and third, we will be heading for our holiday next week. I have been browsing the internet for some holiday essentials like a new summer hat, maxi dresses and a new bathing suit. There is quite an offer out there, but I managed to select some beach essentials that would look perfect as holiday outfits.

Here is my selection of dresses, skirts, kimonos, espadrilles and summer hats.

I browsed the maternity section as well and found some adorable dresses. It’s time to try some maternity clothes for this summer.

As a side note, my cuz sent me some pictures of her summery outfit on Monday. Big sunnies and a straw hat are definitely the best summer accessories.
