Winter is coming!

Just because the outside temperature is freezing it doesn’t mean you have to wrap yourself in a huge, fluffy blanket and sleep in front of the fireplace. What? It doesn’t? Sounds good though. 😛

Unfortunately, we have to run errands, do groceries, go to work and the cold weather is no excuse for not looking our best. Mix and match stylish pieces with cozy clothes and you’ll have some extraordinary winter outfits.

My perfect Sunday attire: an oversized cardigan over a turtle neck dress and a pair of knee high boots. I am crazy about my grey patched cardigan and I have been wearing it obsessively in the last weeks. I love how it brings any outfit to life.

London calling

Hi all, Andreea’s cousin from London here. I am happy to announce an exciting collaboration between Andreea and myself. From now on I will try to inspire you through my posts, because you know, sometimes shoes speak louder than words :). I will be writing mostly about fashion, but also about London life and the multitude of events happening in this amazing city.

The past weekend I started working for this project. This blogging thing is not as easy as one may think (congrats cuz for being so good at it). I finally decided what to wear, I did my hair and, lucky me, outside was windy and rainy. Ah, the joy of living in London! I was so happy to wear my new favourite dress, by the talented Romanian designer Ovidiu Pop. A hand painted dress it’s definitely a statement piece in any wardrobe and it certainly makes heads turn. I styled it with a long coat from The Kooples to which I added a fur collar, I am a huge fan of fur and truly believe that any outfit can be improved by adding some fur to it.

So here it goes my introduction, I hope you will enjoy my posts and trust me, the best is yet to come.

Leather Skirt

When it comes to leather, I stick to jackets that I think are the best thing ever. Skirts and trousers for example are not my usual scene. So to find a skirt in real leather that appeals to me, was a very nice surprise, especially since these days I seem to struggle to find clothes that give me the instant urge to buy them (it might just be time to take a break from shopping at Zara). Not that Mango it that much different from Zara, but funny enough my skirt was a welcome distraction in their store. The wrap effect was such a hit with me since I had been looking for something similar for some time now. So here it goes my new leather pencil skirt that I am so happy to own and to have in my wardrobe as one of those items that will be hopefully worn many years from now.

New Clothing Shop in Zurich

The moment I laid eyes on this shirt dress I knew it will be something that would look amazing and be a good fit for me. I fell in love with the soft silk and the print on it. The fact that it is longer in the back works wonders for my silhouette and it leaves the impression of longer legs.

It is a Kelly Love design and you can find on the Cityscape fashion website. It is basically this cool online shop that has brought different designers from around Europe to the Swiss market. I absolutely loved their autumn winter collection and the idea behind the store that I have to share it. Below you can see me and Anna, the face and brain behind Cityscape fashion trying to recreate the back to school look with Kelly Love clothes. We were both so excited to get to take a few pictures wearing clothes that we felt like “professionals” shooting for a magazine. I love clothes and there is nothing like finding a shop that understands that clothes can tell a story. And Cityscape does that by promoting nice and quality design. Take a look at the online store and you will see what I mean.

We are both wearing Kelly Love designs soon to be available for ordering on Cityscape Fashion.

Pointy flats

I have a thing for flats these days. I have been wearing  flats ever since Luca joined us mostly because I needed to be comfortable. But also because they make me feel good and they seem to go with my new found Mama style. Yes, I seem to live in skinny capri jeans and flats these days. And I have found that a pointy flat is the best. It is such a practical shoe for busy women and on top of that it elongates the leg, which it perfect for mini me.

I bet all of us feel inspired by Spring. I know I fell like a new beginning is unfolding right in front of our eyes. When I was home at my parents, I loved how everything was blooming and from one day to another we had a different scenery in the garden. I felt like I had to take some pictures there, but I hardly found the time to dress up. When I am away I always travel with at least one pair of comfortable heels. You never know when you need to look a bit more polished. My look is just that, a running errands look, or a late afternoon coffee date with friends.

A quick coffee run

We are big fans of coffee at our house. And honestly it is one of the incentives of getting up in the mornings when I am way too tired (Luca makes sure that I don’t get enough sleep). So whenever we have a moment to ourselves me and hubby either enjoy a cup at home or we make a coffee run in the city. We take Luca along of course and this past Sunday he was the sweetest boy, playing in his stroller while we chatted and enjoyed our coffee. It was a 45 minutes thing but it made our day since it reminded us of the things we love and that are still doable with a baby.

We took some pictures in the parking lot since it was raining and we did not take the raining cover for his pram. Luckily the coffee place was right outside the parking lot.

I am wearing: Zara coat and jeans (old), Converse white sneakers, Kenzo scarf, Celine handbag

Ps: Happy Easter and long weekend! We are at our parents for the next 2 weeks.

Post pregnancy outfit

Finding the time to get dressed up these days is not easy. All that is related to me and my fashion sense is in the back of my mind somewhere and there is no time or energy to bring it forward. I cherish those 10 minutes when I get to pick up my outfit for the day and I want to be comfortable and baby friendly so even my jewellery and make up are minimal. I am lucky to have my pre pregnancy body back (I still have a few extra kilos left but hopefully they will go once I start exercising) hence my old wardrobe is pretty much available for me again. This helps especially when you see your old jeans fit again. So for my first outfit post pregnancy I chose my favourite boyfriend jeans, a sweater and heels. Oh how I missed my high heels (never underestimate the power of high heels ladies). They are on my list of small things that make your day a bit better.

Plaid shirt

Ever since I entered the last mile of my pregnancy, I appreciate more and more the comfort of dresses, flats and tights instead of jeans. I find that most of the trousers are too tight over my belly and that can get pretty uncomfortable through out the day. And in what flats are concerned, I like the new trend with the pointy toes since they seem to be more classy and add a bit of sophistication to any outfit.

Oh and my bump is huge, I am now in week 36 going on week 37 and I still can’t believe how close I am. Also I am set to stop working in another week, so hopefully after I stop, the baby gives me a few days to relax. I am getting more and more curious about how and when he will decide to make his entry into this world. I guess I just have to wait to and see. Playing the waiting game will certainly be fun.

Little black dress

Last week I had an office party and the dress code was Fab and Glam. I looked in my closet and nothing seemed more appropriate than a little black dress. Since it was too late to order something online, I went to Zara to see if I could find something. I scored this pretty black dress with a lace neckline that looked great on my baby bump. I also added this geometric necklace that I got for my birthday. The good thing is that I will be able to wear this outfit after I give birth as well. It is incredibly satisfying to be able to shop in the stores that you love when you are pregnant.

Besides going one size up on the regular clothes, here are a few other maternity stores that I ordered with:

H&M Maternity, Asos, Esprit, Zalando, Isabella Olivier (only maternity), Topshop, New Look (60% sale now), Next, Verbaudet (kids and maternity only). All the shops are Europe based and most of them have free international delivery.
