Minted Giveaway

Every year the holiday season brings families together. We all turn towards our loved ones, think of what they like and try to give them a nice gift that will let them know that they are always in our hearts. This is how I like to think of gifts, as that special something that comes from the heart. Big or small if it has a personal touch it will most definitely be appreciated.

I turned to Minted this year once again to find not only the best stationary and Christmas cards, but also personalised gifts. I have a very special friend that loves pictures and I know she would love one of their personalised collages.

I just love the variety of their product range and I am always guarantee that I will find something I like from the home collection to the party decorations. A cool thing they added is the option “buy now, personalise later” which allows you to buy a design and do the personalisation at a later date. Think about wedding invitations or thank you cards for your big day.

Now that I gave you a taste of how cool Minted is, they are offering one voucher of 100$ to one of our readers. Please just head to my Instagram to join the giveaway, that will be opened until Sunday, Dec. 20, end of day.

Happy gifting!

PS: This post was created in collaboration with Minted a brand I love and use for years.

New traditions and a giveaway!

Screen-Shot-2014-10-25-at-09_13_59-1024x733

This year end is going to be extra special for us. Besides the fact that we will welcome our first born in November, we will celebrate our first Christmas in our new place, as a family of three. This sadly means that we won’t be able to travel home to see our families like we did every year since we moved to Switzerland. And because I want all our family and friends to have a little something to remind them that we are thinking of them, I decided this is the first year I will send Christmas cards to our dear ones. It will be the first holiday when we make our own traditions and sending our wishes in print to our closest friends and family seems like a good start.

Imagine how happy I was when Minted, a global community of indie designers that create amazing stationary products approached me for a collaboration. I absolutely fell in love with all their assortment from wedding invitations, holiday cards, baby and children gifting to party decorations. Independent artists and designers are creating beautiful products that we can customise and make our own. I was very impressed how user friendly their website is and how many options you actually have when choosing your products.

I am currently debating between 4 designs that I customised for us. I chose to go with a Photo Christmas card since there is nothing more special then a printed card with a photo of your loved ones on it. I can already imagine our grandmothers faces when they will receive the card and how they will frame it and added to their memory wall.

You can chose the design you want and then you have different colours and font options to customise the card. You can write the text you want that can be in any language you prefer. Once it is saved in your designs, you can update the card as many times as you want before you send it to print. I plan on updating ours with the baby pictures of our newborn baby.

First card I customised, the Gallery Wall Christmas Photo Cards.

And once you saved a photo to your profile you can turn on the option – Find it fast – and then all the products in the category are displayed with your photo already on them. I think this is a brilliant feature since it makes easier to decide on a design once you actually see your photo there.

Second card, that can be used as an ornament as well is the Twisted Peppermint Holiday Ornament Cards

The magic of waiting for St. Nicholas

Every year on the 5th of December I go back to my childhood years and remember one of the happiest days of my life. I would wait for St. Nicholas knowing that he brings gifts to children that were good. I would prepare my boots and he would leave the presents there. My grandparents were the ones having to handle my anxiety and they would tell me all these stories that would only make me more curious. And then one year, I met him. I was so nervous and scared to even get close to him. Little I knew that it was my dad disguised as Santa. Sweet childhood memories…Tonight I felt like recreating the atmosphere of waiting for Santa and I made tea (we actually received some amazing tea today), cookies and I put some nice music on. Now you tell me if I don’t deserve all the presents in the world? We even have our boots ready. Enjoy the holiday, my dears! The magic begins tonight.

As promised I am following my gift guide series, with present ideas for HIM. You know him, the guy that makes you smile or just go crazy, all in less than a minute. But no matter what, we love them and having them in our lives is a blessing. So what do the men in your life like to do? Maybe they love to travel and take lots of pictures, or maybe they can’t live without sports and gadgets. But what if they like to dress nice and act like a modern Mr. Darcy. And let’s not forget the younger ones, the 20 something ones, that are still balancing studying and partying in the middle of the week. Oh Men! Here are my finds for each of them. Have fun shopping!

Gift Ideas for HER

Holidays are slowly approaching and that, for most of us, means one of the busiest periods of the year. Until the actual Christmas day when we can relax and enjoy, we need to plan gifts for our loved ones. Some of us love thinking of gift ideas, but other dread the hole process and just want to find something and be done with it. I’ve put together a few present ideas for the women in our lives. It can be a girlfriend, a sister, a mother, or just a special lady that you would like to see smiling. The art of giving is so special that no matter what you chose, if you put it in the right context, it can make someone very happy. Just think of the person you want to surprise and the right gift will come to you. It always does, if it is from the heart.

Christmas decorations

I believe one of the best things about Christmas are also the decorations. They help us create the hole scenery that gets us in the festive mood. Every year I am amazed with the beautiful things you can find around the city. This weekend, we spent a very nice day in Luzern and we finished the day in Einsiedeln where besides the beautiful monastery, we also got to experience another Christmas market, so popular this time of year.

Christmas Cookies that you can buy at every market.
Should I even say how delicious and addictive they are?!

Aren’t they just precious? I so want them in my tree…

A Christmas to remember

This was my first Christmas away from home. Until now every Christmas I would drive home to my parents house and spend a proper traditional Romanian Christmas with the family. This year was time to start creating our own traditions, at our new home in Switzerland. And we managed to create the perfect setting for the perfect Christmas with friends. We cooked, we ate and drunk good wine, we laughed and enjoyed the company of great people, we gave and received presents and we managed to relax watching Christmas movies. Thank you Emilia & Robert, Cristiana & Ioan, my hubby – Traian for this very special holiday. Looking forward to many more together.
