My uniform: ankle boots and a dress

Every season I look for a new coat, a new pair of boots and a few dresses. I practically live in ankle boots paired with a dress and this season I have found a very good selection at About you. They have the best online community and I am so happy to get to be inspired by it, especially in winter when I find I lack so much of the energy from the sunny days. This weekend I chose to brave the cold and wear a spring/autumn coat with a black open back dress that is still pretty warm. Perfect for a wine tasting on the Zurich wine ships. It was fun and it always feel good to put an outfit together for you guys. Hope you like it and hope you enjoy browsing the About you website. Happy shopping!

When in Barcelona

Hello, everyone! I hope you are all doing great!

If you follow my Instagram page you have seen that last week I’ve been to the fabulous city of Barcelona. We planned this trip long time ago and it turned out to be the perfect getaway. It was amazing to spend a few days with Andreea and Traian, to wander around the city, eat some Spanish food and drink lots and lots of Sangria. Btw, Andreea is a foodie, so if you ever find yourself in need of restaurants recommendations is definitely worth asking her.

Whenever I am on holiday I am full of energy, I love dressing up even more than I normally do, I wear more or less make-up, depending on the weather and the time of day, I accessorise more and I try a different hairstyle everyday. I also get inspired by the local culture and that reflects in what I’m wearing. Because Barcelona was warm and sunny, all my outfits were so summery and carefree and when Andreea and I did a bit of shopping, I managed to put together a great boho summer outfit. The top I purchased has a great design, I’m in love with it’s details and most important for me it doesn’t look cheap and worn out. I cannot get enough of this blouse, which I chose to wear with a pair of wide leg trousers but just imagine wearing it with some skinny jeans and a pair of sandals. Perfection!!!

Bank Holiday Weekend

When it comes to long weekends I am the happiest person alive. And no, it’s not because I want to lie in bed and sleep in. I rarely make plans, I’m more a “dolce far niente” girl, but I always try to get up early, get dressed and go out while breakfast is still served. A perfect morning starts with a cup of coffee in my fav coffee shop in town, which luckily is on my doorstep, Starfish Loves Coffee. They make an excellent flat white and a fingers licking chocolate brownie. I’m literally drooling on my keyboard now.

Last Friday, unfortunately, I had to also do some work, so my bank holiday attire was a mix in between casual and elegant. The weather was nice, it was sunny and wasn’t raining, so sandals it is 🙂  who cares it’s March? I paired a large Stefanel knit with a pair of tailored crop trousers from Banana Republic and sandals from Massimo Dutti. Oh, and let’s not forget about the ever so stylish Ray Ban shades which bring this outfit to life. Perfect!

Office wear

Hello everyone,

I am one of those persons whose day is much better when wearing a good outfit. Whether I go to work or have dinner with friends, I must feel confident with what I’m wearing. I don’t save clothes for special occasions, I will wear a hand painted colourful dress at the office without any remorse.

Every morning before choosing what to wear I pick the shoes first and then the clothes. 90% of the time I’m wearing heels and here I must quote Victoria Beckham “I can’t think in flats”. Heels empower me.

When deciding what to wear at work I try not to show too much cleavage and legs even though sometimes I get too influenced by what the girls in “The good wife” and “Suits” are wearing :P.

Last Friday at the office I chose to wear a pencil faux leather skirt with a white shirt and a pair of heels. It know it sounds like a normal office “uniform” but I always add some accessories that reflect my personality, this time was a waist leather belt from Alexander McQueen.

Just another fashion moment

My dears,

Happy to report that today I got five minutes where I could model one of my recent purchases from my new favourite store, COS. I love taking pictures of my outfits but with Luca around it is almost impossible to find the right moment where I look impeccable, we have the perfect setting and he is a happy camper so I can strike a pose (between you and me the universe really does not understand the concept of fashion Mama). Today we did have the perfect rooftop terrace thanks to Hiltl, but my circle shape jersey top was nothing like a circle and my lipstick was not refreshed…so yeah, not the best fashion moment, but nevertheless a very nice lunch with my boys and my friend Dewi. Definitely a spot we will return and hopefully more pictures with lipstick on will be taken 🙂

I call this the face: “Oh no, he is not going to do that!” and it can be spotted whenever Luca decides to through everything in his reach on the floor.

Try and resist this face 🙂

Water is a favourite especially during meal time.

COS top and necklace, Zara jeans, Hotstepper booties.

Have a great week, luvs!

Summer hat

We’ve been pretty busy over here. I went back to work in June, my parents came for a visit and Luca had his daycare accommodation period. Plus it is summer and we are trying to spend as much time as possible outside.

My new favourite item when it comes to enjoying warmer and sunny days is a nice  hat. I am just in love with the one I got from Paris from Banana Republic (free shipping over 50 euros and currently having a big sale) that I could wear it every day. And honestly I don’t know of a better method to protect my face from the sun when we are out in the middle of the day. It is my must have of the season, especially if you spend a lot of time outside.

The blue shirt

I have always loved a nice shirt, but recently I started wearing them quite often. I am such a fan of the loose fit ones that go well with skinny jeans and not only. I love a soft fabric that still looks well put together after a few hours of sitting and fussing around. The shirt I am wearing is unfortunately not available anymore, but I plan on stocking up on a few more similar to this one.

I bet all of us feel inspired by Spring. I know I fell like a new beginning is unfolding right in front of our eyes. When I was home at my parents, I loved how everything was blooming and from one day to another we had a different scenery in the garden. I felt like I had to take some pictures there, but I hardly found the time to dress up. When I am away I always travel with at least one pair of comfortable heels. You never know when you need to look a bit more polished. My look is just that, a running errands look, or a late afternoon coffee date with friends.

Home office outfit

I miss dressing up and going to the office. There, I said it. Does this make me a bad mother? I hope not, cause I certainly don’t feel like one. I love spending my days with baby Luca. We are slowly getting into a routine of our own and everyday is a new adventure. I can focus on him, but I can also squeeze a bit of grownup time in there as well. Like blogging. In a dream world, blogging would be a passion turned full time job and I could actually work from home. But that is just a dream, not even a project since I love my actual job, that I would love to get back to someday. But not the topic of my post. I actually imagined how I would dress up if I would have my office at home. Of course jeans are my first choice and a maxi sweater. I have a soft spot for maxi sweaters and I seem to own quite a few.  Also I am leaning towards a more minimalistic style nowadays. I am still figuring it out, but a new rule is to only purchase pieces of clothing that have no time limit to them. Also I am focusing on black, white and greys (no relation to Fifty Shades of Grey that is the talk of the moment) as prime colours.

My Mama Uniform

I have a new uniform as of a few weeks. Thanks to the January sale from Zara, I managed to score the most comfy trousers and a jacket that is so light, but warm enough for the sunny winter days. I never thought I will wear knit trousers as an adult but once I tried them on, I was sold. With a newborn, the time to get dressed is limited so the following outfit is perfect when I only have five minutes to chose what I am going to wear.
