Weekend in Rome

Here are a few pictures from my weekend in Rome. I took the trip in order to meet some old friends, that I haven't seen in almoust five years. I met the girls in 2006 at my first job and we spent 2 years working together and getting to know each other. One thing that brought us together was also the fact that we studied the same thing in college, actually with two of them I went to the same University only in different years. It is amazing how we get attached to people and even if you haven't seen them in ages, when you finally manage to meet or talk, things seem to fall into place like you know each other for a lifetime. It was like this all weekend, it was like time never passed and we enjoyed every minute. I already miss you ladies and I can only hope we manage to pull a weekend like this every other year.

A glass of Prosecco, as a welcome drink

Chatting with my friend that lives in Rome, on the stairs near the Pantheon. Funny story, she was telling
me how she met, on a random walk in the park, Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem. And she even got to
exchange pleasantries with them...When in Rome...

Buildings in Rome always are something more...I mean, you could get a great picture at every balcony.

Piazza Di Spagna must be my favourite place in the city. It is crazy how many people are there all the time, but nevertheless it has something to it that makes you feel like you can relax instantly.

We stayed on the stairs for a while, because the sun was shinning and we took in a bit of the italian scenery.

Romance in Rome

Fashion in Rome

La Fontana di Trevi, which for me, will always be associated with the best gelato in the world. My first time in Rome in 2010 I had gelato in the same place, and that is a taste that you can't forget.

Having a pizza on the street is a must if you ask me. Chances are it will be again the best pizza you ever had. We took ours and we were not disappointed.

And since we are talking about food, Andreea took us to a very cool supermarket, Eataly, that gathers traditional groceries from all around Italy. The store can be found in New York as well and in Japan. I loved it since I enjoy cooking italian food and I could have bought a lot of stuff. Too bad my luggage was not up to the challenge.

My friend Ana got a very nice souvenir, a red mask

The most beautiful blue sky I have seen in a while

Until we see each other again, we will always have Rome :)

All the pictures were taken by the ladies. They all know how to master a camera. And if you want to see more cool pictures you can visit Mihaela's blog here.
